  • EasyShift 4.5 Released! Here’s What’s New.

    EasyShift is a relatively information-intensive app. You’re asked to review Shift instructions and product specs, while collecting information in stores. With this redesign, the focus was to make that experience even more effortless. Everything from finding to completing Shifts needed to feel fluid, responsive, and easy to understand.


    A content-first approach
    The new design scrutinizes the use of decorative elements and visual weight, which keeps you focused on completing Shifts (and earning more). 

    We removed anything that wasn’t essential and reconsidered the typeface, positioning, and alignment of all content.The result is a purposeful, yet elegant look and feel.

    Simplified Shift states
    Color is used sparingly on pins and cells to highlight only Available and Accepted Shifts, making it quick and easy to find what’s important.

    • Green: Available Shifts
    • Blue: Accepted Shifts
    • Gray: Reserved Shifts (by other users)

    Fairer reservation rules
    If others abandon a Shift, a 2-hour hold is enforced which prevents them from re-reserving the same Shift. This gives you a fair chance at more opportunities to earn.

    A few other upgrades

    • A bold, new logo (more on this later)
    • Badges alert you about Shift-related updates
    • Surveys save automatically as you go
    • Pinned forum topics help you find relevant discussions faster

    At EasyShift, we believe it’s important to continuously gather feedback.   • Meet a few of our awesome Shifters

    Thanks to all for your kind notes about the T-shirts and mugs we sent out! It was a super fun project for us. Please know that while we’d love to personally thank each and every one of you, every week, it would end up being a full time job, and as you know, there’s other work for us to do ;)

    We wanted to share some photos of you in your swag that were sent in, and some stories about who you are and how EasyShift fits into your lives.


    Rafael was the very first Shifter to send in a photo to our Facebook page. He’s a super earner and says that he is looking forward to earning his five thousandth dollar from EasyShift in the next couple months.

  • User Spotlight: Shari Goll


    Pictured above are Peanut and Andy, Shari’s partners in Shifting.

    In August of 2012, Shari, who had already entered the world of crowd-sourced mobile work, searched online for more ways to make money with her phone in her city of Seattle, Washington. One year later, after finding and reading an article about a startup in San Francisco named EasyShift, Shari is one of our power Shifters, has NEVER had a Shift rejected, has completed over 400 Shifts for us, and is an integral part of the EasyShift community.

    I spoke with Shari recently and asked her some questions about her experiences with EasyShift. 

    Shari’s favorite thing about EasyShift is the ability to make supplemental income without the stress of a conventional 9 to 5 job, and especially appreciates Shifts like our Sports Drink Check that have clear instructions, are easy to complete, and pay well.

  • EasyShift 4.0 is here!

    Big news, friends! If you haven’t already noticed, EasyShift 4.0 is live!!


    We’re super excited about the clean new design and exciting features we’ve added. 

    Here’s what’s new: 

    • Shift Alerts so you can find Shifts nearest you
    • Shift Filters that provide advance views of upcoming pending Shifts as well as currently reserved Shifts
    • You can now talk to other Shifters in Community Discussions - chat it up!
    • And, because we know how important it is to get you paid for your hard work as soon as possible, more points now = faster payment! Moving forward, we’ve decided to prioritizes approvals based on how many points you’ve earned with us. Get Shiftin’, folks :)

    Update now to check it out - and make sure to set your Shift Alert area right away!

  • EasyShift is a ‘Cool Vendor’!



    Hey folks, we’re super happy to share some exciting news with you this week. Yesterday, Gartner Inc, which  is one of the worlds’ leading IT research firms announced that Quri has been recognized as one of only three “Cool Vendors” for 2013. Being selected as a  ”Cool Vendors in Consumer Goods” by Gartner as an emerging and innovative vendor in a key technology area is pretty cool, indeed. What it means is that the work you as Shifters have been contributing to via Quri and EasyShift to provide the data needed to significantly improve retail execution and sales for our clients is really being noticed as the game changer it is!

  • Nice to meet you: An introduction to the EasyShift support and community management team

    Although you might already know us by name, we think it’s time to officially introduce you to the support and community management team here at EasyShift. This team is responsible for answering questions you have about EasyShift, bringing you news and information about Shifts, and making sure your experience with EasyShift is the best it can possibly be. We also take your feedback seriously and want to make sure it is heard by everyone here at Quri HQ. 

    Making up this team is Ki and Angela.


    Ki is passionate about all things social media and loves taking care of Shifters. She is an expert community manager and what she loves about her job is the opportunity to collect and utilize feedback from Shifters - what makes a Shift great, what might make another one extra tough, and how we can do better. You are the best source of feedback for what features to focus on, what may be holding you back, and what we can do about it. When Ki’s not caring for Shifters, she can be found in her garden or behind her iPhone, stalking her family and friends for her Instagram feed.

    We have some exciting news here at EasyShift. Just today, EasyShift’s parent company, Quri lanched Qcard - a solution for big brands like Tyson, Dannon, and Nestle that provides incredibly valuable and previously unavailable visibility into how their products and promotions perform in-store.

  • EasyShift: Now and Then and Coming Soon

    The year 2012 was an exciting one for EasyShift, and we’re thrilled with the work you’ve done for us. Because of you, we’re now doing work in over 4,700 cities, and have grown the scope of our projects immensely. A year ago, a big job for us would have been completing Shifts in 300 stores vs. a recent Oral Care Product Check, where, because of you, we finished a job that required Shifts be completed in 3,500 stores!

    As Shifters, you should know that you’re now part of a growing workforce that is changing the way work is done! Just this morning, EasyShift and Tiffany, one of our top earning Shifters, was mentioned in this article in the Wall Street Journal about mobile apps and the creation of new jobs.

  • Contests, Winners, and User Spotlights

    This past December, as a way to express our gratitude for the work you’ve done for us and to celebrate the holidays, we ran a contest for a free iPad mini.
    Allan Ryckman, who was randomly selected from all users who completed 1 or more Oral Care Check Shifts between 12/19 and 12/26 was our lucky winner. Allan has been a Shifter since May of 2012, and he and his wife both enjoy using the app.
    We always love having an opportunity to speak with our Shifters and hear their thoughts and feedback on the app. Allan shared some great ideas with us that are in line with the direction we’re going in and that we will be adding to the app for our next release.
    Also in December, to celebrate reaching 10,000 “Likes” on our Facebook, we randomly picked 5 people who had completed Shifts within the month of December to receive a $100 Target Gift Card. I checked in with a couple of those winners and asked them some questions. Featured for our User Spotlight, here’s Adam and CeeCee:


    Adam lives in Eden Prairie Minnesota and has been a Shifter since August of 2012. And, no - that’s not a picture of Adam, it’s his little girl Avery… potential Shifter to be??

    • My favorite part of this app is that it brings back my days as an actual merchandising coordinator. I loved that job! The pay is great too!

  • Shift Training - Shift Submission & Payment

    It’s time for another lesson on Shift Training! The second installment will provide tips on how to submit a great Shift and make sure you get paid for doing so.


    Read. Then read again. Make sure you understand the questions asked so that you know the product you are looking for and are familiar with the instructions.


    For example, if you’re asked to list the promotional price for Yoplait Greek Yogurt but the product is not available, it’s okay to leave the answers blank instead of entering a number.

  • Shift Training - Terminology

    We’re back and ready to announce our Shift Training series!  We’ll help you navigate through stores more efficiently, quicker, and complete more Shifts! 

    Now on to the lesson…

    Pallet display. This is a manufacture’s display unit that is shipped to a retailer on standard pallets. These will typically be placed on a sales floor serving as a free-standing, advertising display that is convenient and requires less labor to maintain. Most notable is the wooden looking crate that holds the products on top.

    Recently, many of our Shifts ask to find a pallet display and then take a picture. The photos above provide a great example of what you should be snapping. The products on the wooden frame will vary on the Shift you’re doing. If you’re not positive that you found a pallet display, ask a store employee to help.

    End cap. This is a display connected to the end of an aisle. This section will typically see a higher sell rate than products located in other areas of the store.

    In the pictures above, the end cap is marked by a red rectangle. They’re also highly visible from the popular perimeter shopping areas.

    "Off-shelf" display. As the name mentions, this type of display will not be directly connected to any shelf. These displays will often be confused with end caps or even pallet displays. 

    Sometimes off the shelf displays can be placed near aisles and perceived to be part of the end cap. Remember to watch out for off shelf displays when completing a Shift.

    Promotional display. There are many types of promotional displays that are placed in a number of areas throughout the store. You’ll find examples of the most common promotional displays below.

    There are many more promotional displays such as coupon machines, shelf talkers or even large hanging banners over a particular section.

    Corey Grapevine has recently started earning since June, after hearing about us over the local news station. When he isn’t spending time with his family you’ll catch him checking the app every 30 minutes to earn extra cash to spoil his children. 

    When did you get started using EasyShift?

    • I heard about it on the local news (Abc 15) when they did a story on smartphone apps that make you money and EasyShift was one of them. Then I decided to start using EasyShift based on how easy it was to make some extra money and how fast you get paid.

  • Fun in the Sun and Updates!

    It’ summer time in San Francisco and that means fog…oh and the occasional beautiful, warm day.  We had one of those recently so the folks here at EasyShift HQ couldn’t resist a quick team outing.  We went to a Giants baseball game last week and cheered our favorite World Champs on while they played against the Dodgers!  We also enjoyed some delicious hot dogs and a few refreshments.

    No doubt the Giants celebrated after their victory, but we decided to head back to the office and work on getting things ready for some exciting announcements in the coming weeks.

    What’s coming up:

    More client work. We’re hard at work signing up new partners to bring you more, higher paying Shifts.

    Faster and smarter. The next version will continue to improve on stuff behind the scenes to make submitting Shifts easier and quicker so you can earn more.

    Better Shift descriptions. We’re adding rich-content (photos + better formatting) to Shift descriptions and surveys. This will make Shifts much easier to understand and navigate — saving you even more time.

    Improved data submission. To continue to get you paid on time and give our clients the best data possible.
